Exercise has never come naturally to me. I grew up like a lot of kids without much inspiration or motivation for exercise. I remember trying to get involved in a few sports when I was a kid and never feeling like I was good at them so I would quit. During the summer before grade six, I starting my first serious exercise plan. I wish things had of been different for me but I probably had a pretty standard typical childhood.
June 2012 was the start of my longest commitment to date with exercise, helping me lose 35 lb. Using social networking to measure my achievements has helped me keep track of my goals. I also have been using Weight Watchers online for my diet. Social networks like Runkeeper, Fitocracy and Fleetly really help me stay motivated.
Since the late fall, I have fallen into such a slow weight loss rate that it might as well be a plateau but not quite. I’m not complaining because the scale IS going in the right direction, I just feel as if I could be exercising smarter. Fitocracy has an online class “Get Fit In The New Year… And For Life“. This is just what I need to refocus and get through this slow spell. I’ll be updating as the class moves onward.
