I’m a Maille mustard maverick! Maille the makers of fine mustard, supplied me with samples of their products. One of the products is the Maille Old Style mustard. The mustard has crunchy whole grain mustard seeds. Maille mustard in any variety adds a great flavour to any sandwich.
One recipe everybody should learn is a BLT sandwich. This is my recipe that I customized for my tastes. It’s nice to have a specialized recipe that doesn’t cost a lot but packs a punch flavour-wise.
I like to think all the healthy vegetables counterbalance the bacon. Yes, I did say that. Bacon and I go way back. For the longest time I couldn’t eat any pork because it caused me stomach problems. The one thing I missed was bacon. It’s so tasty. Bacon was reintroduced into my diet in moderation and I haven’t had any problems. I now believe the stomach issues stemmed from my overall diet being so poor. Eating more vegetables and exercising has helped me so much.
Adding vegetables to sandwiches is an alternative if you don’t enjoy salads. Avocado on sandwiches makes a great substitute for mayonnaise. If you need more convincing, avocados add so much nutrition and not as much fat and calories as mayo. The real secret is it tastes better. Pick a great bread that you love. My bread was grainy and hearty.
